PHOTOS! 3 Months After Upper Jaw Surgery

I’ll cut the small talk, and get straight to the pictures.

Remember this photo? The one on the left was taken about two months before my upper jaw surgery, and the one on the right was taken eight days after my surgery.

Now, three months after upper jaw surgery, with almost no visible swelling left, here I am.

And here I am again!

And, the rare braces-baring shot…

I look almost normal now, except the braces. God how I hate the chunks. I’ve already written a sweet, and, I hope, extremely persuasive email to my orthodontist asking her if there is ANY way she can remove my botton braces at my next visit, since my botton teeth are no longer being moved (as of months ago, secretly!!). Of course, the top braces are the real pain if we’re talking aesthetics, but I also can’t stand the feeling of chunky, thick, bracketed teeth. Can’t stand it. Lower braces out would be a fantastic treat this month, but I have a feeling they’ll be strict about it. Don’t know why, but I’m thinking my luck just isn’t with me on this one…

do you notice a difference of your upper lip area being bigger? does it look bad cause i don’t see that yours looks bad but my surgeon told me that my upper lip area would be fuller and some of the people he showed me it looks bad.i’m having both upper and lower jaw surgery due to sleep apnea.

We have the same name lol! I’ve had braces for 5 months now (also had them for over 3 years in my early teens, I am now 20), and I am seriously hating their presence in my mouth. I need orthognathic surgery on both my upper and lower jaw to correct an open bite, but I will likely need to wait until December. However, I have grown to accept my appearance and am considering simply getting them off at my next appointment in August after a final consultation with my surgeon. Any advice?

Ah yes please update photos! I just had surgery and am eager to see what kind of results I’ll get after the swelling subsides.
